Azrael: The Angel of Death
“That night the angel of the LORD went out and put to death one hundred eighty-five thousand men."
Liam Michaels, a wealthy artist and photographer, is Azrael, the immortal Angel of Death. He is a being of pure silvery light, placed on earth thousands of years ago to find and remove evil originating from a far darker source than any human can imagine. He moves through the world as a wirey, six-foot-two, two hundred pound man with chiseled features, luminescent, medium length, silvery hair, and eyes like swirling pools of silver.
He is a Voidmaster and controls the infinite dimensions of the Multiverse, entering and exiting through portals called void points, which he creates and places strategically around the world. Through these portals, he can move instantly from one place to another. In addition, he can manipulate the dimensions to create extra-dimensional worlds...either paradises, or in the case of a demon or fallen angel, a living hell.
For the past five hundred years, Liam has worked as an artist and is, in fact, responsible for all of Claude Monet's paintings. Monet was stricken early in his life with rheumatoid arthritis ending his career before it even began. But Liam, feeling sorry for his friend, signed Monet's name to his own paintings passing the fame to Claude.
As a painter living during the late nineteenth century, Liam experimented by painting many repetitions of the same scene as he studied the play of light under different conditions. He created numerous duplicates of scenes of haystacks, water lilies, the houses of parliment, and old St. Lazare train station. The result was the birth of the Impressionist movement. It also left him with a convenient means of earning a living. Now, as an art dealer, he can always "discover" a new Monet and sell it for millions of dollars. Granted, they aren't quite as old as those hanging in Museums, but they are authentic.
But there is one other characteristic of Liam's paintings and photographs: they all contain void points.
